Fractional CTO
Technical owner, not a ticket queue
I help businesses that are past DIY tools but not ready for a full-time technical staff. You get judgment, implementation, and a person who will say when something is the wrong work.
Who this is for
This is ongoing technical ownership. Project-only Shopify or website work lives on the other service pages.
This is a fit
- Owners who need a technical decision-maker without hiring a full-time CTO
- Teams whose website, store, or internal tools keep breaking because nobody owns them
- Businesses that need hosting, DNS, analytics, SEO, and vendors coordinated by one person
This is not a fit
- Staffing a large engineering org or replacing an existing VP of Engineering
- A one-off Shopify theme tweak with no ongoing ownership (Shopify Development)
Outcomes I target
- A clear technical owner for the public site, store, and related tools
- Fewer stalled projects because vendors, DNS, and hosting have a single decision path
- A backlog that is sequenced by business impact, not by whichever tool is loudest
- Documentation and access so you are not locked to a black box
What the retainer covers
Scope is written per client. These are the modules that show up most often.
Technical ownership
Roadmap, vendor choices, and a written source of truth for how the systems fit together.
Hands-on build
I implement the work: sites, applications, storefronts, integrations, and the unglamorous repairs.
Keep it running
Hosting, DNS, TLS, backups, analytics, and the monthly chores that prevent 2 a.m. surprises.
Plain-language advice
You get a recommendation, the reason, and the cost of waiting — not a slide deck of options.
Common questions
01Is this only for Shopify brands?
No. Shopify is one specialty. The retainer is for any business that needs a technical owner for websites, apps, stores, SEO, and hosting.
02Can this be project work instead of a retainer?
Yes. If you only need a site, a migration, or an SEO pass, use those service pages. The fractional CTO offer is for ongoing ownership.
03Do you replace my existing developers?
Not unless that is the point. I often sit above contractors and tools so someone is accountable.
Need a technical owner?
Tell me what the business does and what is in the way. I will say whether a retainer, a project, or neither is the right next step.
