Websites & Web Applications
Custom sites and software
Not every business needs a store. Marketing websites do not belong on Shopify, and web applications need to do more than publish pages. We design, build, and deploy custom sites and internal tools the streamline your operations and integrate with your existing tools.
Who this is for
This is custom web work for businesses that need a site or application—not an online store.
This is a fit
- Service businesses, professional firms, and operators who need a marketing website without an ecommerce platform
- Teams that need a web application—client portals, internal tools, or workflows that a brochure site cannot handle
- Businesses that have outgrown a page builder but do not need Shopify
This is not a fit
- Product catalogs and checkout flows—that is Shopify development
- Requests for content, ads, or social management
- Projects that only need a theme tweak on an existing store
The right tool for the job
Shopify is excellent at selling products. It is the wrong default for a marketing website, and it is not a web application platform. We build custom sites when you need a public presence that is fast, maintainable, and not tied to a store—and web applications when the work is intake, reporting, scheduling, or operations rather than merchandising.
What we ship
- Marketing websites that load quickly, are easy to update, and do not carry ecommerce overhead
- Web applications that handle real workflows instead of stretching a CMS past its limits
- Clear handoff so your team knows what was built and how to keep it running
- Hosting and deployment that does not require a full-time developer to keep the lights on
What this work includes
Scope depends on whether you need a public marketing site, a web application, or both. These are the modules we combine most often.
Marketing websites
Brochure and lead-generation sites for businesses that do not sell products online. No Shopify tax, no unused cart.
Web applications
Authenticated tools, portals, and operational software that go beyond publishing pages.
Content you can maintain
Structured content so non-developers can update copy and pages without breaking the layout.
Integrations
Connect forms, CRMs, scheduling, and internal systems without fragile Zapier-only plumbing.
Performance & SEO basics
Fast templates, sensible URLs, and the technical foundation search engines need. Deeper SEO is a separate service.
Launch & handoff
Deployment, documentation, and a short support window so the site or app is actually usable on day one.
How we build
- 01
Discovery
Clarify whether you need a marketing site, a web application, or both. Map users, workflows, and constraints.
- 02
Plan & prototype
Agree on pages, features, and what is out of scope. Prototype the risky parts before committing the full build.
- 03
Build & review
Ship in reviewable increments. You see staging progress, not a surprise at the end.
- 04
Launch & support
Deploy, document, and stay available for the first weeks after launch.
Common questions
01Why not just put this on Shopify?
Shopify is an ecommerce platform. A marketing website does not need a cart, checkout, or product catalog—and paying for that stack usually makes the site slower and harder to edit. If you do sell products, we have a separate Shopify development service.
02How is a web application different from a website?
A marketing website publishes information and captures leads. A web application lets people do work—log in, submit records, manage jobs, or run an internal process. If the site has to remember users and change based on what they do, it is an application.
03Do you also write copy or run ads?
No. We stay on design, engineering, and deployment. You bring the business knowledge; we turn it into software you can run.
04What if we might sell products later?
Say so in discovery. We will not force Shopify onto a marketing site, and we will not pretend a brochure site can become a store later without a real replatform.
Need a site or application that is not a store?
Tell us what the business does, who needs to use the site or app, and what is failing in the current setup. We will say whether this is a marketing site, a web application, or Shopify work.
